Choosing Adhesive for Bottles, Jars and Pouches
Why adhesive selection matters for curved bottles, glass jars, flexible pouches and different storage conditions.
Adhesive Is Part of the Label System
A label is not only the printed face material. The adhesive determines how well it bonds to the package. A beautiful label can still fail if the adhesive does not match the container surface, storage temperature or application process.
Curved and Flexible Packaging
Small bottles, tubes and pouches may bend or curve after application. These packages need materials and adhesives that can stay stable without lifting at the edges. Flexible packaging often needs extra testing because the surface may move during handling.
Cold, Wet or Oily Conditions
Refrigerated drinks, freezer products, bath products and oily containers need special attention. Standard adhesive may not perform well on wet, cold or oily surfaces. In these cases, stronger adhesive or specific application instructions may be needed.
Testing Before Mass Production
For new packaging, sample testing is always recommended. Apply the label to the actual container, wait for enough bonding time, then test storage, handling and shipping conditions before confirming bulk production.
The best adhesive is not the strongest one in every case. It is the one that fits the surface, environment and application method.

Quick Checklist
- Confirm label size, shape and application method
- Check product surface, storage environment and handling condition
- Choose material, adhesive and finish before mass production
- Request a proof or sample for new packaging projects
A label is a small part of the package, but it affects product appearance, readability, handling and customer trust. Matching the label specification with the actual packaging condition helps reduce production risk and improve long-term packaging consistency.
